Sushi Sasa is one of my top five sushi restaurants in Denver. I love that I can have gluten free freshwater eel and other unique rolls. The veggie fried rice and shishito peppers on their happy hour menu they also made both gf for me as well. And their derive has always been top notch.

Came here for dinner. We were early enough that we didn't need a reservation and were sat at the sushi bar. The restaurant is a really nice atmosphere; with great decor & ambiance. For appetizers; Miso soup - this was pretty standard miso, good flavor Spicy garlic edamame - these were so good, there was so much flavor! Would definitely order again and again! Rolls; Dragon Roll - this was the best one we had! I wasn't too sure about the strawberry on top, but it really made for an excellent roll. Diablo Roll - also a good choice and would order again! Spider Roll - this was not a good one for us, and we wouldn't order again. Maybe the soft shell crab was over cooked/fried? When we bit into it, it was like chalk, and the taste was not very good. Spicy Tuna Roll - average spicy tuna roll, would probably order again for a more simple roll option. We also ordered some nigiri and it was good/pretty standard. Over all, it was pretty decent and would maybe be back again, but it didn't standout from other sushi places for me,
This place was recommended to us and we are happy we made it here. Friendly and warm ambiance. Suggestions were helpful. Very close to where we live so we really wanted this to be a great option for us. The sake flight was excellent and can't wait to come back to do the premium flight. Uni was fresh and very good. We sat at the sushi bar and next time will let the sushi chef make the choices for us. We highly recommend and will be back.
With a very sad heart (and now empty belly), one of the best ever sushi spots has CLOSED as of December, 2024.
